Girls 2000 Outlook
Well after an email from the best manager in the world, and
also a soon to be xc runner, I realized it was time to do the girls outlook.
This is going to tough because I didn’t get to run with the girls that much
last year, but I guess I ran with them enough to know who actually trains hard
and who doesn’t. Well my guess for first next year is a sophomore who didn’t
even run last fall. Chris Lee played field hockey last fall but tore it up on
the track. After only a month or two of base training she managed to run
5:40/12:39 this spring. I figure after a couple months of aerobic training she
will be flying this fall. My next choice is the hard working Kristen Nicholson.
Last year as the number one and team captain, she had trouble leading the team
to their potential. But this year with the addition of Chris and last years
experience she gained as captain, I don’t think there will be a problem with
the team running to their potential. Not far back from Kristen will be Erika
Gregory who has the fastest pr of all returnees with a 20:23. The reason why
she won’t be first is because she always runs with her friend who’s best is in
the 26s. But this year she may and decide to run with the top girls in practice,
if she does she is going tough. The number 4 position on the team will most
likely belong to Sara Diebler. She has run a 20:54 with no training. If she
actually came to practice she could be sub 20 with ease. She usually is a no
show at practice because of swimming and shin splints. I think Kristen Anderson
will be the most improved runner from last year, also the occupant of the 5th
and final scoring slot on the team. I ran with her a couple of times in the
winter, so I know how much of a hard worker she really is. She is definitely going
to push the top group of girls in the upcoming months. I don’t know much about
the rest of the girls team, but I do know that there is one girl who is talking
about running with Chris, and maybe even me(allen carr) over the summer. This
girl could be dangerous if she does what she says she is going to do. I am just
disappointed that she can’t run and be a manager at the same time. But then again
she won’t be able to break anymore printers if she runs(jk).
